I want to create an up to date topic for all people looking for good info on Versa Max Tactical and Competition. But I’ve seen a lot of guys have a lot of problems with them too.

These are bold claims with the competition they face from manufacturers in Italy as well as the US.
I thought this would be a great shotgun after reading all of the reviews and reading Remington’s ads.

The Remington Versa Max is gas operated, which means that it bleeds a bit of the high pressure gas just behind the shot cup down through some ports in the barrel into a piston system that drives the action. 68A. The end result is a devastatingly accurate shotgun that cycles as fast as anything this side of a custom gun. The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.
HAS ANYONE HEARD OF POI BEING OFF THIS BAD. At this point, when buying a new (2013 or 2014) Versa Max, are there any reliability issues that need to be addressed, which Remington has not this far?
The Versa Max is the best Remington shotgun design since the Model 1100, and no doubt you will be seeing the Versa Port system again.

I have not had any problems until now, but these are major problems that paying customers need to know about. We also have better aftermarket support for the Remington than the Benelli here, so I might just go Versa Max. There are a whole lot of variables to consider in that statement, but I can verify that recoil is reduced when shooting 0000 buckshot through the Versa Max tactical with the cylinder bore tube.
