Though the more common and widespread black oil beetle and violet oil beetle look similar, these species have a thorax that is squarer in shape. They are worth keeping around. The word triungulin is a reference to its three-clawed feet. Oil Beetles showcase a totally weird life cycle, toxins that can cause both pain and pleasure, and the potential to be part of the cure for cancer.
