I examine the epistemological debate on scientific realism in the context of quantum mechanics (QM), focusing on the empirical underdetermination of different formulations (and interpretations) of QM. The contemporary debate between scientific realism and anti-realism prominently presents the question whether or not a realistic interpretation of quantum mechanics (q.m., afterwards) can be given adequately when it is reflected in concrete scientific theories.
