It never dragged, but it always wasn’t quite as riveting as some others have been.

John French has created and epic story of confusion, Legions ideologies, discontent and mainly - he had shown us Legions dreams. Compared to the rest of the series, Praetorian of Dorn is not my favourite book — the story, while engaging and well-composed, wasn’t quite as smooth as we’ve seen in the past.

I finished it last night, but had to sleep on this review because the tectonic shift this book has caused is unparalleled. Rogal Dorn, otherwise known as The Vigliant, Praetorian of Terra, Blade of the Emperor, Lord of the Phalanx, Castellan of Inwit, Best Treehouse Architect in the Galaxy, Crusader of Useless Exposition, The Unyielding One and Primarch and Sire of the Imperial Fists Chapter, which was a Legion before FUCKING HORUS fucked everything up.
The standard rules for book discussions apply. I personally loved Pharos, and was a huge fan of Path of Heaven.
The Solar War is the final phase of the Horus Heresy, the last theatre to be fought in before the traitors reach the Imperial Palace.
