The distribution map has provided an easily comprehensible confirmation of a shared experience: the invasive brown marmorated stink bug has spent the past two decades becoming a near-ubiquitous nuisance. The invasive brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB; Halyomorpha halys) was first discovered in Pennsylvania in 2001, and has caused tremendous crop damage in many mid-Atlantic states.
